I Fagiolini – Cake Mix with introduction by Director Robert Hollingworth

I Fagiolini is renowned for their innovative presentations of both classic and unusual repertoire, from Renaissance to contemporary works. The world-class ensemble were due to play an exclusive event at Brighton Festival this year.

Instead, their musical director Robert Hollingworth has sent a special message, along with an exclusive performance by six singers recorded in their homes. Cake Mix has been scripted by Timothy Knapman and is the first in a series of three short films, 'Not in This Together', created as a gentle spoof for socially-distanced chamber musicians.

The track performed is by Claudio Monteverdi and features on I Fagiolini’s recent recording, Leonardo: Shaping the Invisible.

A  special Brighton Festival at Home dedication from I Fagiolini. Tune in to watch Sing The Score: Bennet – Weep, o mine eyes

With thanks to Robert, I Fagiolini and Percius Management for their generosity.

Further performances are available on I Fagiolini's YouTube and Facebook.

Help us continue with what we do best

Arts venues and festivals across the country are facing extremely difficult times. In March, 65% of our income disappeared overnight due to coronavirus and the cancellation of Brighton Festival was the first in its 53-year history. As a charity we believe the arts inspire and are a catalyst for positive change. Now more than ever, we need the arts to brighten our days and lift our spirits. Help us continue with what we do best - to support artists and partners and return stronger for audiences and the wider community. Please consider a donation to Brighton Dome & Brighton Festival.
