Calling all local musicians!

We're looking for musicians to take part in a large scale performance this May

Brighton Festival and Paraorchestra are looking for musicians to take part in an exciting, large scale performance taking place this May – SMOOSH!.

As part of Brighton Festival, this rip-roaring music parade will see a huge ensemble of musicians and dancers performing pop-classics on the move through the streets of Brighton and Hove. 

We are looking for musicians (ages 18+ ) from the Brighton area who want to take part in this exciting, outdoor performance with us. You do need to be able to read sheet music at a level of grade 3 and over to take part in this project. This is a voluntary opportunity and will involve you learning and rehearsing during workshops for the show in April and May, before joining the Paraorchestra company for part of the production week at the end of May 2022. Details of the dates for sessions are below. This is an outdoor show that will happen come rain or shine, and we want to make enough noise to start a summer party on the streets of Brighton!

We are searching for instrumentalists who play any brass, woodwind or portable percussion instruments. We won’t discount you if you don’t play any of the specific brass and woodwind instruments listed, the link below will give you a guide for what we’re ideally looking for, as these instruments tend to project best outdoors!
