Webern 5 Movements for String Quartet, Op.5
Brahms String Quartet No 2 in A minor Op.51
Currently members of the Kirckman Artists scheme, the award-winning Elmore Quartet was formed at the Royal Northern College of Music and now runs its own festival in the Gloucestershire village after which it is named.
Brahms invited his good friend Hungarian violinist Joseph Joachim to premiere his second quartet which is here contrasted with the radical atonality and condensed expressivity of Webern’s 5 Movements for String Quartet.
