Alexander Panfilov

13 Feb 2018

The Moscow-born and London-based virtuoso Alexander Panfilov takes a musical journey from Albéniz’s vivid evocation of sun-drenched Spain to the dark dissonance of Prokofiev’s wartime sonata. In between, the yearning Romanticism of the great Polish pianist Paderewski provides a gentle contrast.

Albéniz Iberia Book 1: Evocación, El Puerto, Fête Dieu à Seville
Paderewski Nocturne No 4 in B flat major Op 16
Prokofiev Sonata No 7 Op 83 ‘Stalingrad’
