Ariwo
Ariwo brings together Iranian electronic composer and producer Pouya Ehsaei; Carlos Acosta’s Latin Grammy award-winning percussion virtuoso Hammadi Valdes; Oreste Noda, figurehead of London's Cuban music scene; and Ropeadope’s Canadian jazz trumpeter, Jay Phelps. Plus special guest acclaimed UK saxophonist Camilla George. Working at the intersection of ancestral and electronic music to create a hypnotising mix of Cuban rhythms, club electronics and jazz riffs, Ariwo's live shows are exhilarating events.
Resonators are at the forefront of the UK dub scene, forging their love of 70’s roots reggae with diverse contemporary influences to deliver their own exciting sound. Fronted by dual vocal powerhouse Faye Houston and Kassia Zermon, this nine-piece takes us on a sonic excursion which reaches from the light and soulful, to the dark and gritty. They have gained notoriety for their awesome live shows, as well as support slots for greats such as The Skatalites, Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry, Jimmy Cliff, Fat Freddy’s Drop and Horace Andy to name but a few.
Unfortunately Ko Saba can no longer join us due to travel restrictions.
