Last year the Cavaleri Quartet won the Hamburg International Chamber Music Competition, as well as the Competition’s Brahms and Mendelssohn Prizes, just the latest in a line of accolades that is cementing their position at the forefront of Europe’s string quartets. Particularly acclaimed for its performances of contemporary music, this programme includes the String Quartet No. 3 by Jonathan Harvey, who died last year.
