Faust

15 Feb 2013

It’s easy to lose your soul in a whirl of Charlestoning, Lindy Hopping and swinging big band music, and in this re-imagining of Goethe’s masterpiece Faust does just that as he’s manipulated into a deal with the devil.

Rooted in the excitement of 1920s Prohibition, Faust takes drinking, gambling, womanising, and general debauchery as the starting point for Bad Taste Company’s intense physical and narrative dance style. In this world of gangsters, bootleggers, gamblers, flappers and hep cats, world-class hip-hop dance and authentic period styling fuse with flaming cocktails, burning boxing rings and a literally explosive set to encapsulate the zest and exuberance of the roaring ’20s.This event is approximately 45minutes
