Gold Run

1 Jan 2012

In the stadium, learning-disabled athletes are training hard. But can their coach lead them on to win the ultimate prize? The highs and lows of their journey to the peak of sporting achievement are charted in this brand-new show inspired by the history of the Paralympic Games.

After a 12 year absence following the Sydney 2000 controversy London 2012 welcomes learning disabled athletes back to the Paralympics. Gold Run marks their return with a dynamic, musical performance featuring a 30-strong choir, original films and one giant sculptural head.

Gold Run is created and presented by Oska Bright film-makers, The Carousel Singers, soloist David Rushbrook, artist James Lake and other learning disabled artists and participants.

So on your marks, get set and get ready to go for gold.

Gold Run is a partnership project and commission by Glyndebourne, Carousel and Pallant House Gallery
