Lucy Humphris and Harry Rylance

13 Feb 2018

Committed to widening the bounds of the repertoire, Lucy Humphris brings a refreshing approach to music for trumpet. Partnered by pianist Harry Rylance, she performs her own arrangements of Respighi’s spritely Balletto and Janáček’s achingly beautiful In the Mists. Interspersed with two solo piano Preludes by Rachmaninov, the concert rounds off with the Swing concerto by the bandleader and trumpet virtuoso, Harry James.
