From the mainstream classical repertoire to the rarefied realms of Messiaen, Tippett and Britten, Steven Osborne has an international reputation for the range and depth of his palette, combining Lisztian virtuosity’ (Sunday Times) and ‘breathtaking articulation’ (The Herald) with a profound ‘poetic sensibility’ (BBC Music Magazine). His latest release, Ravel’s complete music for solo piano, was shortlisted for a 2011 Gramophone Award. Here the acclaimed concert pianist performs an intimate recital as part of the Festival’s lunchtime series.
