Virgin Territory

6 Feb 2017

Directed & designed by Charlotte Vincent

Cinematographer: Bosie Vincent

Composer: Jules Maxwell

We all want to be ‘liked’ and ‘followed’, but what impact does performing for the camera have on our lives? Virgin Territory is a bold dance theatre experience that asks vital questions of us as ‘audience’ as we witness children playing in an adult online world. Charlotte Vincent’s powerful new work leads you through a series of lyrical, disarming exchanges, performed on multiple screens by four children (aged 12-14) and four adults.

With moving, resilient performances at its core, Virgin Territory elicits an emotional and discursive response in its searching enquiry into our hyper-sexualised digital world.
