The Moscow-born and London-based virtuoso Alexander Panfilov takes a musical journey from Albéniz’s vivid evocation of sun-drenched Spain to the dark dissonance of Prokofiev’s wartime sonata. In between, the yearning Romanticism of the great Polish pianist Paderewski provides a gentle contrast.
