The award-winning British countertenor and leading harpsichord player come together for an evening of music from the Italian Renaissance and the baroque. This ‘dream team’ pairing lifted the roof off the Wigmore Hall when they unveiled this programme last January to mark the Hall’s 110th anniversary season. The chosen repertoire ranged from the rarefied to the rapturous, setting little-known 17thcentury lullabies and laments alongside the more familiar terrain of Handel and Vivaldi. The result was ‘an evening of baroque virtuosity from one of the most accomplished countertenors and from quite the twinkliest pair of harpsichord hands in the business’ (The Times).

Now is your chance to experience this ‘irresistible musical chemistry’ (The Times) as Davies and Egarr reprise this memorable concert especially for Brighton Festival.

‘Iestyn Davies has a very special quality. It’s not just the sound – poised and pure, a true male alto – but the unpretentious honesty of his artistry that touches us.’ The Independent
