What Can You Do?

Sun 1 Jan 2012

In a rare live performance, one of Britain's most provocative theatre-makers revisits his formative works and unveils a new solo.

Brighton-based writer, director and performer Neil Bartlett has come a long way since the early 1980s, when he found notoriety with a series of performances confronting the beginning of the AIDS epidemic in Britain.

In this special one-off event, he takes a personal and passionate look back at nearly 30 years of his solo works to pieces that were first performed in nightclubs and derelict warehouses: a journey that has taken him from the Royal Vauxhall Tavern to the National Theatre and back again!

Featuring excerpts from seminal shows A Vision of Love Revealed in Sleep, Sarrasine and Night After Night, the evening concludes with the world premiere of What Can You Do? - specially commissioned by Brighton Festival.
