Join us for a night of poetry with the87press

the87press is a South-Asian, Neurodiverse, and Non-Binary-led independent publisher based in South London which hosts The Hythe, an interdisciplinary e-journal for poetry and poetics, creative writing workshops in community-based and higher education institutions, and regularly curates events bringing together sonic and lyric subcultures. 

Join us for an evening of readings and performances from the87press’ list including Lola Olufemi and Karenjit Sandhu.

Lola is a Black feminist writer and Stuart Hall foundation researcher from London. She is the author of Feminism Interrupted: Disrupting Power and Experiments in Imagining Otherwise.

Karenjit Sandhu is a poet and artist whose collections include Poetic Fragments from the Irritating Archive and young girls! with the87Press. Sandhu’s performance work has led to collaborations with the ICA and Camden People’s Theatre in London and Galerie Eric Dupont in Paris. 

They will be joined by Samuel Solomon who lives in Brighton, where he teaches at the University of Sussex. He is the author of Lyric Pedagogy and Marxist-Feminism: Social Reproduction and the Institutions of Poetry and the co-translator from the Yiddish of The Acrobat: Selected Poems of Celia Dropkin.
