Why Willows Weep

Sun 1 Jan 2012

How did the oak come to life? Why does the chestnut have white candles? Why does the ash have black buds? These and other questions have inspired an enchanting new collection of short stories about trees and woodland by some of our best-loved writers. Here, the collection’s creator Tracy Chevalier (Girl With a Pearl Earring) and fellow contributors, Kate Mosse (Labyrinth; Sepulchre) and Susan Elderkin (Sunset Over Chocolate Mountains; The Voices) read their ‘contemporary tales from the woods’ and discuss the challenge of writing short stories and fables.

Why Willows Weep has been compiled to raise awareness of and funds for the Woodland Trust.
