50 Shades of Feminism
Fri 15 Feb 2013
Fifty years after the publication of the seminal The Feminine Mystique, have women really gone from domestic paragons to machines of desire inspired by variations of sex, shopping and masochism – all coloured pink? Edited by Lisa Appignanesi, Susie Orbach and Rachel Holmes, 50 Shades of Feminism is a new anthology of women writers who think, who act, who inspire – in Technicolor. This event is an antidote to the idea that being a woman is all about submitting to desire.
Guests at this event include novelist and columnist Tahmima Anam and BBC World Service reporter Bee Rowlatt.
