We are delighted to be working with our Guest Director Lemn Sissay to bring Brighton Festival 2021 to our city.
Over the last year, we have learned an enormous amount. Our team at Brighton Dome & Brighton Festival have devised a programme that implements Covid-safe live events in the Concert Hall and at venues and outdoor sites, for socially distanced audiences, we have trained our staff and set up processes following government guidelines and received the Good to Go Approval.
We believe we can deliver a Festival in a safe and responsible way, that will give audiences something to look forward to and build confidence for future events.
WE NEED YOU!
Volunteering is a fantastic opportunity to experience unique, world class performance and cultural events, get involved in the cultural life of the city, learn new skills, meet new people and have fun! Every year we recruit volunteers from our local communities to support the delivery of the festival. Volunteers provide a vital role in welcoming both artists and audiences to our city and shaping the Festival experience for everyone.
THIS YEAR IS A LITTLE DIFFERENT…
To ensure the safest experience for all, we are asking volunteer applicants to apply for specific shows so that we can tailor your training to the specific health and safety guidelines of the shows you are working on. You can apply for more than one show, however we would like to offer as many people as possible the opportunity to participate in this year’s festival and opportunities are limited. All volunteers will receive full Health and Safety Training, as well as specific Covid-Safety training relating to the shows you are working on.
Volunteer roles are listed below. Please read the description of each role carefully before applying to confirm that you are available on the required dates and understand the role you are applying for. Please note, volunteer roles are OUTDOOR this year and will take place in ALL WEATHERS.
Alongside our own volunteering team, we are seeking volunteers to work with some of our fantastic partners delivering shows across the city. Details of how to apply for these roles are listed below under 'PARTNER OPPORTUNITY'. This means that you will be volunteering directly for the company delivering the show and they will be responsible for managing all aspects of your volunteering for that show including scheduling your shifts, managing your training and taking responsibility for your welfare. You can volunteer for these shows alongside other shows in the Festival programme.
We aim to engage an ethnically diverse team of volunteers that represent our local communities, and welcome applications from people who are disabled. Reasonable adjustments will be made wherever possible. Volunteer applicants must be aged 18+ on 29 April 2021.
