The Hero's Journey is a pattern found in all the best narratives – you can find it in many books and popular cinema. Candy outlines the steps of the Hero's Journey using examples from Pixar and Star Wars, then leads you to create your own story, using comic book techniques.
Candy Gourlay grew up in the Philippines and her novels for young people have been nominated for the UK's top children's book prizes such as the Carnegie, the Guardian Prize and the Blue Peter Award.
