Though hailing from rural Queensland, this Australian-born pianist completed his studies at London's Royal Academy of Music. In October 2010 he became the first Australian to reach the semi-finals of the Warsaw Chopin International Piano Competition, widely regarded as the greatest competition of its type in the world. He made his US debut at Steinway Hall, New York in the same year and last year performed for the first time in China, with the Wuhan Philharmonic Orchestra.
