In 2006, to mark the 60th anniversary of UNICEF, Vanessa Redgrave (producer) and her son Carlo Nero (director) made a film celebrating six decades of progress for children. Wake up World tells the story of UNICEF through archive material and interviews (with, among others, its ambassadors Ralph Fiennes, Liam Neeson and Redgrave herself ), exploring the organisation’s unique history and mandate to intervene for children in conflict and disasters around the world.
