Throughout history the wind itself has been channelled to make music through a miscellany of weird and wonderful ‘Aeolian’ contraptions. That tradition was the starting point for Max Eastley and six of the finest sound artists around today (Mark Anderson, Jony Easterby, Kathy Hinde, Dan Fox, Nathaniel Robin Mann and Mike Blow) as they assembled this landscape of elaborately intricate to enormously towering wind-powered musical installations.
Sparked by the mythology and curious history of Aeolian music, the result is Audible Forces, an other-worldly soundworld that constantly changes as nature’s unseen force breathes life into it.
