In the world of music and theatre, take five is universally understood to mean take a break: pause, reflect, reset, breathe... Given the theatre of our fraught times, with airwaves full of the bombast of xenophobia, misogyny and environmental abuse packaged as common sense, we’ve decided to take a cue from music and pause.
Take 5 is simply five of the most compelling poets working right now, on stage to redirect the conversation in their own unique way. Five voices brought together on one night to give us a break from the news, a break from the broken promises – to sing us a new song.
