Cuckmere: Schools’ performance

Four schools and colleges in Brighton & Hove and East Sussex have participated in composing workshops led by Cesca Eaton and Ed Hughes, in response to their exquisite collaboration Cuckmere: A Portrait.

Open to the public, this special performance is the culmination of five months of work by students at BHASVIC (Brighton), the East Sussex Academy of Music (Lewes), Hastings Academy and St Richard’s’ Catholic College (Bexhill).

The evening will feature:

- A complete performance of ‘Cuckmere: A Portrait’ performed by the five core professional musicians of the Orchestra of Sound and Light with Cesca Eaton’s film

- Instrumental interludes devised and performed by students and OSL musicians

- World premiere performances of new scores by student composers to Cesca Eaton’s film, performed by OSL and student composer/performers from St Richard’s Catholic College, Bexhill; Hastings Academy; BHASVIC in Brighton and East Sussex Academy of Music in Lewes
