Children’s Parade

Thu 11 Feb 2016

What better way to begin the 50th Brighton Festival than with a cavalcade of colour and cacophony? And what better theme for this special year than Brighton Celebrates’?

Brighton Festival always kicks off with the Children’s Parade, an irresistible tide of fabulous costumes and music-making that is (probably) the biggest event of its kind in Europe. Celebrating our past but with an eye on the future, the 5000 participants from more than 80 schools and community organisations take inspiration from the people, places, ideas and innovations that shape Brighton’s unique character and identity.

The parade starts at 10.30am in Kensington Street and winds down to Madeira Drive on the seafront by way of Jubilee Street, New Road, North Street, East Street and Grand Junction Road, finishing at approximately 1pm.  You can find more route information here
