The Fantastical Flying Exploratory Laboratory

Presented by Les Enfants Terribles

The show follows Dr Latitude and his team of misguided misfits on a global quest, discovering incredible and entirely ‘fictitious’ new lands, tribes, flora and fauna previously unknown to humankind!

Dr Latitude’s stories are brought to life using a ‘hot air balloon flying machine’ that soars above our heads in spectacular fashion, creating a theatrical spectacle for outdoor and festival environments, as well as allowing large audiences excellent viewpoints.

Le Cheval Solitaire

Presented by aboutNOWish

Le Cheval Solitaire is an outdoor walkabout show for young children and their families, performed by 3 dancers dressed in custom made horse costumes. Our performer encourages children and grown-ups to help find a missing carousel. Once a crowd has gathered, a large parasol resembling an ornate traditional carousel is erected and the three performers join together in a graceful, rhythmic dance. The children are invited to join in with their accompanying adults, as the performers model different carry holds and supported lifts that children and adults can emulate together.

Audition Project

Presented by Miss High Leg Kick

5, 6, 7, 8… Join the Chorus Line for your big audition experience! Learn the dance steps of the audition scene from A Chorus Line (the 1985 film) - led by Miss High Leg Kick, Harold Offeh and Steve Nice. An hour of dance, rehearsal and showing-off in leg-warmers as you try to “make the cut” for the show, but without any disappointing outcomes – all will star in the final show! No previous dance experience or talent necessary. Leotards not compulsory.

Special guest appearances by Reggie Roberts and Luciana Hutt.

Please note: this event and its audience will be filmed by artist Richard DeDomenici and edited together with other Without Walls Audition Project events across the UK for a final “Redux” film replicating the original scene. You can follow the progress of the film on www.auditionproject.com throughout the summer!

H.O.H.

Presented by Far From the Norm

H.O.H. is an interactive, immersive dance piece that is centred on the nation’s favourite sport, football, tackling socio-political issues that affect our everyday life. Using the concept of football; the athleticism, the skill, the flamboyant characters are used as a forum to communicate with the audience wider issues that are happening in modern society. H.O.H. explores the connection of multi-cultural British people and football, creating a frenzied public disorder as these characters’ voices and stories are exposed.

H.O.H. will comically force the audience to look at the nation’s beloved game from a different perspective; through hip hop theatre and contemporary movement the dancers will combine fast-paced footwork, physical floor work with thrilling vitality: performing a fury of scenes that are ironic, amusing yet demanding.

Urban Astronaut

Presented by Highly Sprung

Blast off with Highly Sprung's Urban Astronaut who will be providing a glimpse of a future that might be. Air pollution has grown to crisis point: is there any way back?

Combining stunning design, unseen before an aerial performance (using a unique travelling flying machine that suspends the performer 20ft in the air) with simple storytelling and moving dance performance, Urban Astronaut travels through towns and cities searching for a solution to the environmental disaster that is present in our near future. The answer is found in a simple encounter with a young girl who provides the one thing the astronaut has lost… hope.
