Submit your New Dawn

Be part of the How Dark it is Before Dawn installation at the end of Brighton Festival 2025.

Artists Doyel Joshi and Neil Ghose Balser of Howareyoufeeling.studio were invited by Anoushka Shankar to reflect on the meaning of a New Dawn, asking them to create four different cover designs for our BF25 brochures.

We now invite you to create your own New Dawn – take a seat, watch the horizon, and show us what a New Dawn looks like to you. This immersive, participatory art installation, How dark it is before dawn, will then feature your work at The Old Courtroom from Fri 23-Mon 26 May.

To submit your New Dawn, pop into the Welcome Area on New Road and get creating! Finished creations can be dropped off at the Welcome Area or Brighton Dome Ticket Office, Church St, or you can share on Instagram by tagging @brightonfestival and #NewDawnBF.

Below you’ll find our online archive of submissions shared via #NewDawnBF.
