Dreaming of desire

Internationally acclaimed Hofesh Shechter presents the spellbinding Theatre of Dreams which dives into a world of fantasy and the subconscious, featuring Shechter’s signature powerful choreography and live musicians performing an epic, cinematic score. Brighton Dome Concert Hall, Sat 3 & Sun 4 May.
Traditional tales, modern flare

Following her sold-out Brighton Festival 2023 show KIZLAR, Ceyda Tanc presents the world premiere of AYNA, exploring our universal desire for love and belonging. Performed at The Arch nightclub with a live DJ and featuring an all-female cast, Fri 9 & Sat 10 May.

Don’t miss the chance to see award-winning choreographer Aakash Odedra make his Brighton debut with captivating solo piece Songs of the Bubul, Brighton Dome Corn Exchange Fri 16 & Sat 17 May. This mesmerising performance tells the ancient Sufi myth of the caged nightingale’s final song, weaving music, poetry and dance.
Pushing the limits

Following their huge Brighton Festival 2022 hit Sacre, we welcome back Australian circus company Circa with their visionary show Humans 2.0, combining incredible acrobatics, contemporary dance and a pulsing electronic score. Theatre Royal Brighton, Tue 20 - Sat 24 May.
Loss, rebirth and hope

Also at Theatre Royal Brighton, Mon 5 & Tue 6 May, renowned American dancer-choreographer Mythili Prakash presents spellbinding solo performance Jwala (Rising Flame). Exploring fire as a symbol of destruction and rebirth, Mythili draws connection between loss and looking to the future with hope.

Catch Emma Critchley’s Soundings at Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts, Fri 16 - Fri 23 May; an ambitious new three-screen film and sound installation exploring the global issue of deep-sea mining featuring live dance performances. And have fun and express yourself at The Dance Space, Fri 23 & Sat 24 May, with HAPPY HYPE, the explosive carnival of movement from Swiss dance collective Collectif Ouinch Ouinch.
