Due to a sold-out first performance we have added an extra 10pm show

Asian Dub Foundation celebrates cult movie La Haine with a live soundtrack, creating a powerful journey between music and frames

In this incredible show, the live soundtrack from the classic French thriller is brought to the stage, played live by the band while the film screens in the background.

Steve Chandra Savale, Jamil Jammaz Ahmed and Brian Fairbairn are respectively guitar, bass and drums of legendary Asian Dub Foundation, a band that has always been politically and socially motivated.

The film, now more prescient than ever, stars Vincent Cassel and portrays the tension in Paris’ banlieuea after the killing of a local man by French police. The rawness of the film has made it a real cult classic, and a strong match for Asian Dub Foundation’s message.

The Foyer Bar will be open from 6pm, with live music by Samphire, and the visual art exhibition Act 0 presented by the Adelaide Salon will be open (for ticket holders only)

Act 0: Bob Dixon - Walkabouts II

Walkabouts II extends Dixon’s ongoing exploration of drawing as a durational and spatial practice. Rooted in walking, the work reflects an accumulation of observation—where landscape becomes both subject and structure.

The act of moving through space generates a visual language that oscillates between external environment and internal reflection. Bob Dixon’s practice spans drawing, painting and printmaking, shaped by dérive and sustained observation. His works operate as visual diaries, recording encounters with place while also drawing from symbolic and esoteric systems. Influenced by both landscape tradition and inner narrative, his practice navigates the relationship between perception, knowledge and experience.

Asian Dub Foundation

Asian Dub Foundation draw from their South Asian heritage, blending traditional Asian instruments with jungle rhythms, dub basslines and rap to create their own unique sound. Formed in 1993 at a music technology workshop for Asian youth, the group came together around their shared passion for music and education. By the mid-’90s, Asian Dub Foundation had built a formidable reputation, performing alongside major acts such as Rage Against the Machine, Beastie Boys, Radiohead and Primal Scream. While their music remains designed for dancing, it is also politically charged, addressing themes of social justice.
