Revealing St James Street
What makes St James’s Street so fabulously unique?
Drag icons Alfie Ordinary, Alex Fincher, and Billie Gold have dug deep into the history books and listened to all the juicy gossip to create a new walking tour of the places and spaces that make up the beating heart of queer Brighton & Hove.
This vibrant archival project has gathered the voices and stories of performers, workers and regulars from the bars and businesses from Brighton & Hove’s ‘gay village’. You might have walked down this street a thousand times, but this experience will make you see the street in a whole new light.
Following the walking tour, you’ll enjoy a 45-minute cabaret show at the Queens Arms.
Should the weather change, we will still be meeting at the same meeting point and take you to a sheltered location, so please join us at your allocated time regardless of the weather
Produced by Queer Heritage South and Marlborough Productions. Commissioned by Historic England and made possible by Heritage Fund.
