The annual visit by Glyndebourne’s Jerwood Young Artists is always a highlight of our Lunchtime series – a wonderful opportunity for you to talent-scout the opera stars of tomorrow, as exceptional young singers selected from the Festival Chorus, and generously supported in their career development by the Jerwood Charitable Foundation, step out of the chorus line into the limelight to perform their favourite excerpts from across the operatic repertoire.

About Seohyun Go (Soprano)
Seohyun Go, from South Korea, is a versatile and expressive artist currently pursuing Opera Studies at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. She earned her Bachelor of Music from Seoul National University and was a Young Artist at the Opern Studio of the Korean National Opera in both 2021 and 2023.
In 2025, Seohyun was awarded the prestigious Guildhall School Gold Medal, marking a significant milestone in her emerging international career and her return to the Barbican Centre, where she previously appeared as soprano soloist in Poulenc’s Gloria with the Guildhall Symphony Orchestra and Choir. She is also the winner of the 2025 Bampton Opera Young Singers Competition and a Kathleen Ferrier Awards Finalist, performing at London’s Wigmore Hall.
About Oliver Williams (Baritone)
Baritone Oliver Williams is in his final year of the Opera Course at the Guildhall School of Music C Drama. Recent operatic roles include Don Giovanni (Don Giovanni), Don Alfonso (Così fan tutte), Lescaut (Manon), Lord Talbot (Maria Stuarda), Peter (Der Wald), and Arunte / Spurio Lucrezio (Lucrezia).
Oliver is a recipient of the Sybil Tutton Opera Award and is a Gwen Catley Scholar, supported by the Amar-Franses C Foster-Jenkins Trust. Concert highlights include appearances as soloist in Handel’s Messiah with the Wyatt Sinfonia, and as part of the Octet in Mendelssohn’s Elijah under the baton of Antonio Pappano with the London Symphony Orchestra.
About Liam Forrest (Tenor)
Fife tenor, Liam Forrest, recently graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music as a Master of Music with Distinction, studying with Mark Wildman. Liam was recently a semi-finalist in this years Concurs Tenor Viñas International Competition. In 2024, he was a Serena Fenwick Young Artist with British Youth Opera and performed as a soloist with The Hallé in Lili Boulanger’s ‘Psalm 130’.
Operatic roles include Passerby in Janacek’s ‘Kat’a Kabanova’ (Glyndebourne Festival Opera) Young Puccini in William Niall Morris’ ‘Puccini: Man of the Theatre’ (Wexford Festival Opera), Hoffmann in Offenbach’s ‘Tales of Hoffman’ (Preston Opera), Dorvil in Rossini’s ‘La Scala di Seta’ (RNCM), Mr Rushworth in Dove’s ‘Mansfield Park’ (RNCM) (Byre Opera), Bobyl-Bakula in Rimsky- Korsakov’s ‘The Snowmaiden’ (RNCM).
About Hector Bloggs (Baritone)
Hector Bloggs is a British Baritone and an Opera Course Graduate at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where he studied with John Evans. His operatic roles include the title role in Don Giovanni, Sid in Albert Herring, Silvio in Pagliacci, Dr Falke and Frank in Die Fledermaus and Edward Rochester in Jane Eyre.
In 2024 Hector made his Wigmore Hall debut in a Thomas Quastoff Masterclass, where he returned for the Kathleen Ferrier 2025 Finals. He performed in La Rondine with the LSO under the baton of Sir Antonio Pappano. Hector won First Place in the Courtney Kennedy Award and Keith Bonnington Award.. Hector was a 2024/25 Drake Calleja scholar, a Gwen Catley Scholar and is an Opera Prelude and Samling Artist.
About Matthew Fletcher (Piano)
Matthew has been a member of Glyndebourne Opera Festival’s music staff since 2012, and is the winner of the Das Lied and Kathleen Ferrier accompanist prizes, Matthew is a sought-after pianist and répétiteur.
His performances have taken him to major concert halls, festivals and opera houses across the UK and Europe. He has played with the London Philharmonic, Royal Philharmonic, BBC Philharmonic Orchestras, the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and the Chamber Orchestra of Europe.
